Installation
Caselle Studio handle sets are designed for standard interior doors (35–50 mm / 1⅜″–2″) and include adjustable mounting hardware for a precise fit.
For best results, we recommend installation by a professional. However, the system is designed to be installed with standard tools.
Passage Handle Installation
For hallways, closets, and doors that do not require locking
Step 1 — Install the Latch
Insert the latch into the edge of the door.
Ensure the angled side of the latch faces the door frame (closing direction).
Secure with the provided screws.
Step 2 — Insert the Spindle
Slide the square spindle through the latch and ensure it is centered.
Step 3 — Attach Exterior Handle
Place the exterior handle onto the spindle and align it with the mounting holes.
Step 4 — Install Interior Handle
Align the interior handle with the exterior side.
Insert the through-bolts and lightly tighten.
Through-Bolt Adjustment (Important)
Passage sets use a through-bolt system to secure both sides of the handle through the door.
Before final tightening, check that both rosettes sit flat against the door surface.
If the bolts are too long and prevent a flush fit, they may be shortened:
- Test-fit both handles on the door
- Check if either side sits away from the surface
- If needed, remove the bolts and trim carefully
- Reinstall and tighten evenly from both sides
Do not overtighten. The handles should feel secure while remaining properly aligned.
Step 5 — Install Strike Plate
Attach the strike plate to the door frame and ensure proper alignment with the latch.
Step 6 — Test
Turn the handle to confirm smooth operation and proper latch engagement.
Privacy Handle Installation
For bedrooms and bathrooms (includes interior lock)
Step 1 — Install the Latch
Insert the latch into the door edge.
Ensure the latch bevel faces the door frame.
Secure with screws.
Step 2 — Insert Spindle
Insert the spindle through the latch.
Step 3 — Position Exterior Handle
Install the exterior handle (side with emergency release hole).
Step 4 — Install Interior Handle
Align the interior handle (with thumbturn) and connect both sides using the through-bolts.
Lightly tighten.
Through-Bolt Adjustment (Important)
Privacy sets use the same adjustable through-bolt system.
Before final tightening, confirm both rosettes sit flush.
If the bolts are too long, they may be shortened:
- Test-fit both sides
- Ensure handles sit flat against the door
- Trim bolts if necessary
- Reinstall and tighten evenly
Ensure the thumbturn operates smoothly and is correctly oriented.
Step 5 — Install Strike Plate
Attach strike plate to the frame and align with the latch.
Step 6 — Test Lock Function
Lock using the thumbturn from the inside.
Test emergency release from the outside.
How the Privacy Lock Works
Inside (room side):
Turn the thumbturn to lock and unlock.
Outside:
Insert a small pin (e.g. paperclip) into the emergency release hole and turn gently.
